I first underwent the effects of Mind-Body experiencing and processing over a decade ago through Gabrielle Roth's Five Rhythms coursework and ecstatic dance. I now have integrated parts of Roth's emotional movement theories with an Internal-Family-System-inspired parts-work meditation revolving around the individual's interaction between past and present self in a safe and supportive environment. These meditations happen both in 1:1 client sessions as well as communal group workshops. We explore the limiting beliefs and protective measures of our younger selves with compassionate support and care, working towards relieving the pressure and fear that we still residually experience today. The interactive meditation is followed by an Authentic Movement practice to assist emotional and physiological processing through interwoven somatic experiencing & embodiment.

We are living through an energetic epidemic. Many people don't feel that they have the energy to function or enjoy their lives fully, often times because they feel they need to spend a disproportionate amount of time focused on work and other obligations. Traditionally we think of rest as calming and passive - think naps and soaks in the tub - and we tend to assume that the rest we need is physical. However, some people are exhausted by the lack of stimulation they are met with daily, and there are at least 7 identified realms of exhaustion we experience: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Social, Sensory, Creative, and Spiritual. For some people, activated rest is what leaves them feeling restored; their energy needs to be regenerated instead of recuperated. Everyone has their own specific Recipe for Restoration. I follow Dr. Sandra Dalton-Smith's 7 Rest framework and work with clients to assess the areas of their life experiencing over or understimulation. Together we explore forms of Physical, Mental, Emotional, Social, Sensory, Creative, and Spiritual rest that leave them feeling rejuvenated and present in their daily lives.

I have found an immense well of purpose and fulfillment through studying and applying Holistic Mind-Body centered healing to my own life and the lives of those who seek my assistance. Be it guiding a group through supporting and empowering their inner children, watching a client develope compassion for their protective learned coping mechanisms, passing on knowledge of nervous system reregulation, assisting to regain agency and balance over energetic regeneration and redistribution, or spending intentional time soothing my own world, this work has shown relevance in every corner of life and has done nothing but enrich my understanding of it. I am a certified Holistic Mind Body Wellness Practitioner, a Dynamic Embodiment Somatic apprentice under Brae Weil-Sisk, and a forever-student of the Mind Body relationship.
